Hi everyone. I promised to bring you the second part of COLOURS and here it is . If you’ve not seen the first part , you can check it out 👇👇👇
COLOURS (PART I)Neutrals and warm colours were talked about in the first part so we’re moving straight to cool and pastel colours.
- COOL COLOURS 💚💙💜
Cool colours are colours which contain hues of blue. As their name suggest , they signify calmness , serenity, freshness, fertility,royalty, life and luxury. 🔹Blue , green , purple , royal blue, turquoise,emerald , mauve ,lime and many other ones of similar shades are cool colours . Cool colours are so diverse . They could be worn in almost everyway , everywhere.
For me , evening gowns and outfits are at the peak of their elegance and luxury when they’re in cool colours. These same colours make jewels look breathtaking.
- PASTEL COLOURS
Pastel colours are basically lighter shades of all colours. They are made by tinting (mixing white into other colours to make them look pale and soft ). For instance: tinting green will give you pastel colour- Mint, tinting blue will give you Baby/Powder blue. Lavender, blush, millennial pink, lemon and others form part of this category too.
Pastel colours are one of my ultimate favorites because they give of calming and relaxing vibes.💓🌸 They can uplift moods in a not so loud way like warm colours. Pastel colours are also easy on the eyes on suggest openness and friendliness 🤗😊.
Pastel colours are usually seen in baby’s clothing and bridal party gown and suites.
Tip : Recommended if you’re meeting people for the first time, to create a welcoming effect.
Suggestions and tips👇👇
1.Office➡️ Dark cool colours and Neutrals. **Colours to avoid ➡️warm colours
2. Weddings ➡️ Pastels, Light Neutrals , Black/navy (suit ).
**Colours to avoid ➡️ Plain Black
3. Outings/Parties/Picnics ➡️ Pastels , Warm colours, Light Cool Colours.
4. Evening/BlackTie➡️ Dark Neutrals ( eg. Black), Dark Warm Colours (eg. Scarlet) , Dark Cool Colours .
**Colours to avoid ➡️ Overly bright colours .

COLOURS (PART I)
Colours matter a lot in Fashion . The colours we wear and how we wear them speak a lot about our outfits . In this post and other subsequent posts, I will be talking about some colours and their relevance and symbolism.
1. Let’s start with the NEUTRALS
Neutral colours could suggest, calm , purity and wholesomeness . Other people also see them as boring. White , black, brown , grey , ivory ,cream , beige , tan , khaki and many other colors and shades form part of neutrals . These colours are the best when you’re going for a minimalistic look🖤 . Most neutrals match with every color, they can really mix well and coordinate together(especially with accessories) and they do not draw much attention . In my opinion, neutrals are very essential in every wardrobe.
Tip * neutrals are good for office/ professional outfits*💼.
2. WARM COLOURS🏵️🌻🌹
Warm colours usually suggest, playfulness, joy , energy, intensity, vibrancy and even danger and warning.Some of such are :
- Red
- Yellow
- Orange
- Pink
- Coral and many others
These colours draw a lot of attention to themselves and they could be noticed from far distances. Orange and yellow seem bubbly while coral and some shades of pink seem soft😊 . Warm colours are playful and usually associated with children’s fashion🙃. Fall/autumn aesthetic might also click into some minds when warm colours are mentioned 🍁🍄 [the shades of orange and red].
Tip#*it is not advisable to wear loud warm colours for professional occasions*

I was at the SONODWAE3 ART EXHIBITION ’22(an annual event where students from STU exhibit their artworks and designs) . It was really cool. There were lots and lots of splendid exhibited works of art ranging from fashion 👗 to ceramics🏺.
I’d like to share some of the amazing works which caught my eye.✨✨
The work I really adored was the one on recycling. The designer made artefacts and designs from recycled plastic water bags .
My second best favorite was on Global Warming and Thrift flipping. #sustainable fashion 🌳🌎.

Travel clothes guide
Whether its just a vacation week or a business trip , its sometimes quite a hassle figuring out what to pack .🤔 It gets even more puzzling when you’ve got luggage restrictions.
Well ……one secret is that, it’s not very difficult once you take it a bit at a time. Here are somethings you’d want to consider when choosing clothes for travel.
1. Essentials
There are some very important clothing items you just can’t go anywhere without.
- Undergarments/underwear
- Pyjamas /nightgowns
- Slippers/flip-flops
- Tops , shirts
- Trousers/jeans/skirts/shorts
- Dresses
- Light weighted jacket
- Casual shoes.
2.The Destination
The climate the season and the culture of the of your destination have to determine the type of clothes you choose. Blazers , jackets , scarves , boots , socks and sweaters should be chosen when visiting a colder place. For visiting places in the summer or in the equatorial or tropical regions you must choose light weighted clothes to make movements very comfortable.(and less sweaty👍) . Also a lot of research must be done so as to prevent offending other cultures with your clothes.
3. The purpose
When going for tours , it’s advisable to bring along comfy outfit especially if you’ll be walking a lot. I’m sure you wouldn’t enjoy hiking or walking around in high heels 😅👠. Nope 😬. Some flats , sneakers, sandals or convers and a pair of jeans , skirts and some simple T-shirts will do .
But for business trips💼👔 , you’ll definitely have to bring along formal outfits (suits, blazers, neckties, etc) . And for formal occasion and evening events : black tie outfits, jewelry, gowns and heels .
4. Duration.
Imagine running out of clothes on the 3rd of the 7 days of your vacay. Pack according to how long you’ll spend . Pro tip( don’t over-pack, essentials first)
- Round up
- 2 dresses or jumpsuits,
- 2 pairs of jeans and skirts each ,
- some fun tops , light weighted jacket,
- sneakers, sandals , slip-ons and some other casual stuff (don’t forget the sunglasses for summer)😎😎.
- Formal outfits for business and black tie outfits for evenings.
- Ear muffs, gloves , scarves, jackets and coats , socks and boots(cold destinations)
- Jewelry (watches, earrings, bracelets….)(alternative)
- Other non-clothing essentials
- Toiletries
- Wallet
- Important documents
- Water bottle
- Chargers
- Snacks
- Purse /backpack
- And a suitcase to put everything+other mini travel containers
